A woman in Ohio has been awarded $20 million over the 1997 birth of her daughter, during which her doctor insisted on pushing a 9-pound baby through her narrow pelvic arch. The baby’s head was squeezed while she was stuck in her mother’s birth canal for 13 hours. Though the baby girl survived, she has limited use of her limbs, has vision problems, and is mildly retarded.
